OFFER ID 1530737
An outstanding historic villa with plenty of character and all the modern amenities and comforts you could need, the Bastide des Chenes sleeps a maximum of 12 guests across six elegant bedrooms. Carefully renovated to update the building's interior, the bastide remains an authentic expression of local architecture and Provençal living, providing a captivating experience of this exquisite part of France.
Secreted away in the heart of the Luberon Valley, the Bastide des Chenes is surrounded by the spectacular natural landscapes that make Provence such a desirable holiday destination. Approximately 8 km from the idyllic hilltop village of Bonnieux, 45 minutes drive from the artsy hub of Avignon and an hour from the iconic Mediterranean city of Marseilles, the bastide benefits from an excellent location. Hiking and mountain biking opportunities abound in the nearby hills, while local restaurants serve up beloved Provençal favourites - from salade Nicoise to daube de boeuf - and the glitz and glamour of the south coast is just a day trip away.
Evenly split between two buildings - the main house and the farmhouse - the bastide's six wonderful bedrooms all feature ensuite bathrooms, Apple TV and Bose sound systems. All six are fitted with king-size beds and benefit from air conditioning. The fully equipped kitchen is a cook's dream, with an array of modern appliances, gas ovens on a central island and beautiful, arched ceilings. The two inviting and sociable living rooms are supplemented by a cosy library, while offices ensure remote workers can check their emails in peace.
The bastide's expansive grounds encompass three al fresco dining spaces, seven seating areas, a Japanese-influenced garden, and traditional Jardin à la Française. A delightful enclosed courtyard connects the main house and the farmhouse, while an enticing heated pool and sun loungers ensure visitors can make the most of the gorgeous French weather. For evenings in, there's an entertainment room with a widescreen TV - and if you really need to keep up with your workout, the fitness equipment is at your disposal. Ideal for family getaways or holidays with a large group of friends, the Bastide des Chenes is a postcard-perfect Provençal escape.
