Island Walking Trail

Hayman Island’s two-hour Walking Trail is 7.8m total, beginning at the marina and finishing at the bottom of Hayman Residences. The trail sees guests hike around the perimeter of the island via Blue Pearl Bay, Dolphin Point and Butterfly Grove. Bushwalking experience is recommended as the tracks can be long, rough and very steep.

Insider Tip: To avoid mid-morning and afternoon direct sun, we suggest you wake up at approximately 5:30am to embark on the trail and see the sun rise across the island and beyond. Complimentary sunset hikes are also available. Enquire with our activities team.
 

Complimentary Beachfront Water Sports

Hayman Beach hugs the length of the resort, catering to guests wishing to enjoy a range of complimentary on-water activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. Activity team members are on the beachfront each morning to assist in getting you ready for your beachfront adventure with all equipment and safety training.
 
While moving through beachfront waters on your paddleboard, look down into crystal-clear waters to see schools of local fish darting past green turtles and magnificent rays.

Guided Jetski Tours

Take your beachfront experience to the next level by joining a qualified and experienced jet ski guide on an epic one-hour jet ski adventure, where you will drive your own jet ski around the waters of Hayman Island, seeing sea turtles and other marine life up close and personal.

This adrenaline-packed adventure combines jet skiing with a spectacular scenic tour of the north Queensland islands.

Fishing Trips

Embark on an exclusive fishing experience in the Whitsundays, starting off with a scenic tour on Hayman Island’s all-new dedicated fishing vessel before getting up close and personal with a variety of unique and colourful fish families. Minimum numbers are required for Fishing Adventure tours. Private half and full day fishing charters are available on request.

Take a short journey by our activity team's speedboat to nearby islands; spending your day snorkelling, hiking and picnicking.

The Northern shores of Langford Island reveal shore walls and coral eco-systems idyllic for leisurely snorkelling. While brimming with different species of fish and underwater gardens, the real attraction to this snorkelling spot is the amount of green turtles frequenting the area. Immerse in outdoor learning on Hayman's Recreation Centre tennis courts with tennis lessons courtesy of the resort's pro tennis coaches.

Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a tour to Whitehaven Beach via boat or helicopter is a must when visiting InterContinental Hayman Island Resort. Guests can marvel the 98.9% pure silica sand gracing Whitehaven Beach’s 7km stretch, before hiking to Hill Inlet to sight the world-famous turquoise swirls caused by a natural sand shift.
