Cultural Activities and Atracctions
Polynesian handicrafts are known for their extreme sophistication. Polynesian craftsman (or "mama") creates hats, baskets and mats with pandanus and coconut tree leaves. All items showcasing their skills and dexterity.
InterContinental Resorts lets you discover the cultural treasures of French Polynesia...We organize various demonstrations focused on the local handicraft such as pareu dyeing demonstration, tifaifai quilt making demonstration, flower and shell lei making demonstration and basket weaving demonstration.
Craft mini-market
Two times a week, local craftsmen and women display their beautiful work for you to admire and purchase. Their market is organized in the magnificent garden facing the lagoon where you can treat yourself to a flower lei, a wicker hat or hand made jewels. The mini-market also features various demonstrations.
For more information and other cultural activities, don't hesitate to ask the Concierge for advise.
